Dumitru Cojocaru: Mi-am dorit foarte tare să ajung polițist

Dumitru Cojocaru has been working in the police since 2018, he is originally from the village of Țiganca, Cantemir district. Since 2019, he has been a police officer at the Cahul Police Station. He graduated from the University of Physical Education and Sports. He dreamed of becoming a police officer since he was a child and he fulfilled his dream. “I have liked the police profession for a very long time, I dreamed of becoming a police officer. When I was little, we were not rich, but I went on to study at the University of Physical Education and Sports, after which I went to take courses at the police academy. I really like the police profession, and I don’t regret it at all. It’s really good,” Dumitru told us. His friends supported him, some even urged him to choose a career in epaulettes. He says that some close people were very skeptical and told him that he would change, that he would become a different person, but he was not to be. "Everything I try to do, I try to do for the good, I have always loved to run away from evil, evil is not for me. I still like it, because I really wanted to become a police officer, so that I would like everything - I do it myself. I don't wait for someone to give me or take something from me, I always do it in such a way that I like it. And the daily work when I come to work I try to collect things, to calculate them in such a way that I like it, so that the day is successful. We go on calls and we have a lot of work with people. When we go to reports, I always get behind the wheel and go on the road thinking, what will happen there. There are different reports: that they threw an axe at the gate and I always think what will happen, how should I react, what should I do to make everything go well" the young policeman tells us. Dumitru has a hobby, he sings. He does it for pleasure, since he was a teenager. He also performed in a local band in Cantemir. "In the 7th grade, my mother got pregnant with my little brother, and I, so as not to cause her any problems, got better, I wasn't too bad, but anyway, and I started singing. My mother really liked how I sing and I started singing on stage, at school. Someone saw me singing a song at the graduation ball, and she invited me to sing in the band. In the 9th grade, I had already finished - I was earning my own money. I can't see my life without music, even at work, I go to the news - I sing," says Dumitru. He is the author of the song "Stay Home", an appeal by the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Cahul district to citizens, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. "The song "stay home" was the idea of ​​the head of IP Cahul, Mr. Andrei Sîrbu. He asked me if I could, and I said I would try. Within 2 hours I composed the lyrics, I put it on a song I knew on the guitar and the next day I performed it and filmed it in the center of the city of Cahul" mentions Dumitru Cojocaru.
