At the heart of ordinary and extraordinary gestures, in the Middle Ages, hair indicated social and existential status, distinguishing the poor from the rich, the good from the bad, the neighbor from the stranger, the layman from the cleric, the honest woman from the dissolute, the virgin from the married, the vain from the humble. We will discuss all this in this new and exciting live event with Professor Virtus Zallot, professor of Medieval Art History at the Santa Giulia Academy of Fine Arts in Brescia, and author of the book "On Heads in the Middle Ages," published by Il Mulino.
