As well as fans, those he worked with have also posted their love for and appreciation of him. In what was a difficult week for a lot of Buffy fans, with the upcoming new show being cancelled by Hulu, the announcement about Nicholas truly puts things in to perspective. RIP, Nicholas. As for Buffy: New Sunnydale, and its cancellation, more context to the situation has been provided by Sarah Michelle Gellar. Around the same time, a full, early script for the show's pilot episode was leaked online. Issues with this script led to a reported 90-minute episode re-write, in which the show was matured and featured more of Buffy Summers. Despite the new script, it was ultimately decided that Hulu would not be continuing with the project. It is currently unclear if a new Buffy project will be started any time soon.
