Emerging at a very young age in the Milanese scene, he took his first steps in music with Fabio Treves, Alberto Camerini, Lucio Fabbri, Eno Bruce, Paolino Dalla Porta, and Riccardo Fassi. At just 16, he recorded with Eugenio Finardi (Musica Ribelle, La Radio, and Diesel). At 18, he recorded with Lucio Battisti and participated in Area's cult album "Maledetti." After an intense experience in England with Hughie Bullen (Osibisa), and in the United States with Cast (Mauro Paoluzzi, Dino D'Autorio, Claudio Pascoli, Mike Fraser, Anthony Rutherford Mimms, Average White Band, and Namy Hackett), returned to Italy and from 1980 to 1987 collaborated with the historic group "Premiata Forneria Marconi." Walter Calloni has also played and collaborated with: Dario Fò, Demetrio Stratos, Enzo Jannacci, Giorgio Gaber, Ivano Fossati, Ivan Graziani, Tricarico, Roberto Vecchioni, Antonello Venditti, Adriano Celentano, Renato Zero, Pino Daniele, Roberto Murolo, Enzo Avitabile, Enzo Gragnagniello, Alberto Fortis, Pittura Freska, Paris Combo, Carlo Fava, Mauro Pagani, Massimo Bubbola, Riccardo Zappa, Cristiano De Andrè, Franco Battiato, Sergio Caputo, Alberto Radius, Mia Martini, Loredana Bertè, Gianna Nannini, Alice, Fiorella Mannoia, Grazia Di Michele, and Ornella Vanoni. From 1994 to 1999, he recorded three albums with Linea C: Linea di Confine, Mappa di un possibile Viaggiatore, and Salti ed Assalti. He also began a long live career with the group. In 2001, he joined the supergroup of drummers called "La Drummeria" (Ellade Bandini, Walter Calloni, Maxx Furian, Christian Meyer, and Pellegatti). Walter Calloni also has extensive and extensive experience as a teacher, having taught for twenty years at the C.P.M. in Milan (from 1984 to 2004), authored a drum encyclopedia published by CPM, taught hundreds of students each year from all over Italy, and held numerous master classes throughout Italy.
