MacBook Neo RekordBox Link Mode #stayfutureproofph #beabetterdj

One of the reasons why I said yes to our recent Hong Kong trip was to look for the new MacBook Neo. As of this posting, it is still not availalble in the local Apple stores but only in the grey market. Alas, I was not able to get my hands on one during the trip as all the places I checked were out of stock. But upon getting home, I took to the grey market with a goal to look for a unit that is close to the prices in Hong Kong. Everyone knows that Apple products are cheaper there. And yes, I actually found one. The reason behind getting the Neo is simple. As a High School or College student who wants to get into DJ-ing, this machine once out will probably be there very first laptop of choice. You get the Apple OS experience in a very affordable package. Though, Apple has used their A chip with this laptop... running the minimum 8gbs of memory and with only 256gb storage, this machine is aimed at replacing Chromebooks in the schools. This machine is made for Internet Browsing, Social Media, Light Office Work and Video / Audio Consumption... The question I bring is... Can this also be used to DJ?! So here we are with video 1 of a series where we will be testing out the capabilities of this laptop when it comes to real world DJ scenarios. In this video, we use Alpha Theta's RekordBox on Link Mode when trying to DJ. So click on the play button and see for yourself if this new Apple product can rock the clubs right.
