Carmen and Sören, along with their daughter Amelie, from Cologne's Südstadt district, are facing precisely this challenge: €1,350 could be put towards a loan, but the right house hasn't come along yet. Daniel Aßmann meets the young family and starts a housing experiment with them: Is the premium for urban living really justified, or can you be just as happy in a small town for less money? For the Südstadt residents, this means a week in rural Lüdinghausen instead of the big city of Cologne. They also go house-viewing in Cologne. Will they find their dream home?
