🌍 Turkey can amaze you… but it can also wear you down. Dust. Dirt. Relentless sun. And people you sometimes struggle to communicate with. There were moments when we honestly had enough. And yet — the deeper we drove into the country, into the mountains and onto roads disappearing somewhere beyond the horizon — the more we felt that this was exactly the point. For us, Turkey became the essence of an overland journey. In this film we take you on 30 days of traveling across Turkey, where the images we had seen online often collided with reality. We saw spectacular places. But we also saw places that disappointed us. And somehow, it’s exactly this mix that makes Turkey so fascinating. 🚙 Along the way we visited places such as: 🏚 Mudurnu and the abandoned villa town – the broken dreams of investors and the strange melancholy of a place that never truly came to life. ⛰ The Rainbow Hills and an artificial reservoir – places that looked spectacular on the internet but turned out to be… something quite different. 🧂 Lake Tuz (Salt Lake) – a space so vast that perspective disappears. Walking on salt, camping beside emptiness, and a road leading straight into the horizon. 🎈 Cappadocia – hot air balloons at sunrise, volcanic landscapes, and the question of whether beauty can coexist with tourist kitsch. 🌊 Limonlu Canyon – escaping the heat, a cold river, and a priceless patch of shade. ⛰ The Taurus Mountains – off-road driving on the roof of the world, a storm rolling over the ridge, and encounters with shepherds. 🌬 The Anti-Taurus Mountains – breakdowns, wind, and a moment of nostalgia for home. 🚗 Stone Road and the mountain tracks of Anatolia – raw routes that supposedly test every driver. ☁ The Kaçkar Mountains – a lake above the clouds and a peaceful ending to a long journey. This trip taught us one thing: Travel is not a catalogue of beautiful places. It’s also the days when things go wrong. Roads that lead into the unknown. And people who, without saying a word, place a cup of tea in front of you.
