(Verse 1) I once walked down a dusty, broken road, Beneath the weight of sorrow and of care. I bore a heavy, dark, and bitter load, And looked for hope but found none anywhere. The hunger in my soul began to grow, A deeper thirst than any earthly stream. I searched for light within the world below, But walked inside a cold and hollow dream.
