BNT 439 Wspinaczka na Hotel Estrel / BERLIN 2026

It was a beautiful May day in the German capital. Construction of Berlin's tallest skyscraper is almost complete. The Estrel Tower, 176 meters high, is in the works. In a few months, this beautiful new hotel will open. When I first saw photos of this building, I was immediately drawn to the longitudinal elements suspended on the facade. These elements are slats that prevent excessive heat buildup, which should save the building money on air conditioning. I'm not interested in air conditioning. I'm interested in climbing this building! I decided to take advantage of the fact that renovations were still underway, ensuring there would be no guests inside on Sunday morning. I discovered that the slats are very sturdy and allow for various climbing techniques to scale this building. The entire climb took me just over an hour. I climbed slowly to maintain a good reserve of strength, which could be useful if any unexpected events were to arise. I rate the quality of the entire facade as very good. The crews responsible for the construction of this building did a great job. I started climbing around 4 a.m., only to greet the first rays of the rising sun on the roof a few minutes after 5 a.m. Interestingly, no one noticed me, and I managed to quietly complete the climb, then leave the construction site and return home. I'm the first person to climb this building without a belay. I needed this climb to prepare for something much more challenging, which you'll hear about soon.
