Fall Colours on the NAR - CN SD40-2W 5295 Leading A 41851 02 on the Westlock Sub - October 3, 2025

With fall colours in full swing in the Edmonton area, we catch up with CN A 41851 02 rolling down the former Northern Alberta Railway mainline with SD40-2W CN 5295 leading. Running daily from McLennan in the Peace River region of Alberta, A 418 is one of the most interesting trains in the Edmonton area. Older power, such a unrebuilt EMD and GE products are relegated to service on the Westlock and Lac La Biche Subs, with the occasional SD40-2 leading. On October 3, 2025, we made our way north towards Westlock to intercept A 41851 02 with CN 5295, CN 5670, CN 2657 and CN 5321.
