What do you knit with one skein of special, qiviut/merino yarn?
In this episode of the Midweek Ramble and 'What Should I Knit With This?' we’re helping Alexa decide what to do with a very special skein: 195 yards of a 50/50 qiviut and merino blend, hand-painted and brought back from Alaska. Qiviut is the ultra-soft undercoat of the musk ox—warmer than wool, luxurious, and a little tricky since it doesn’t have much stretch. With only one skein, the project has to be just right. I’ll walk through a set of tiered options, from safe bets to more ambitious picks, all of which highlight the fiber and work within (or close to) 195 yards.
