Located in Lalibela, in northern Ethiopia, the rock-cut church of Saint George is one the most amazing structures in the history of architecture. This video, the second in a series of three, examines the relationship between form and process. How was this structure carved directly out of the volcanic rock that still surrounds it? Standing before this magnificent structure, the beholder has a sense of being in the presence not of any human architect but of the divine creator of the rock itself.
