Hood Release Cable & Lock Latch Installation on 2006 BMW X5 Background Music: "You Don't Mess Around With Jim" by Jim Croce Save yourself the hassle and just grease & reuse the original lock latch. Cheap aftermarket latches don't work as they don't lock the hood down unless the lock spring is manually reset every time you open the hood. Aftermarket release cables work fine. All Release Cables & Lock Latch were purchased on eBay.
