DATRON neo and M8Cube Mill Frame Rail for Valkyrie BattleBot
The DATRON West Technology Center had chips flying as the parts for a fierce combat robot were made. For Season 6 of Discovery Channel’s BattleBots, Team Valkyrie experimented with generative design to create lighter, stronger frame rails. With high speeds reaching up to 40k and 60k RPM, these DATRON CNC machines rapidly milled multiple frame rails made from aluminum. The job setup was quick and easy thanks to the DATRON compact centric clamps and vacuum technology (which uses a permeable vacuum card instead of a gasket).
