Phantasy Star I - Ep. 22: Corona Tower & The Eclipse Torch (No-Commentary)Playthrough
Episode 22 of our Phantasy Star I (Sega Master System / SMS Power! Retranslation) no-commentary playthrough. In this installment, we tackle the formidable Corona Tower on the icy planet of Dezoris to secure the legendary Eclipse Torch. As with previous entries in this series, this walkthrough focuses on clean, immersive gameplay recorded via the Kega Fusion emulator, ensuring you get a clear look at the dungeon layouts, enemy encounters, and routing without any commentary clutter. Because the tower relies on a complex web of alphanumeric and numeric teleporters, it is highly recommended to follow a strict sequence to avoid exhaustion. The Prerequisite: Before entering the tower, ensure you have already completed the events at the Menato Cave and secured the Amber Eye. Without it, the NPC at the top of the tower will have nothing to trade. The 1st and 2nd Floor Loops: The lower floors act as a filter. You will encounter several chests containing minor loot (like 500 Mesetas or a Cola), but getting distracted by them is a trap. Stick to the optimal path connectors to preserve your magic points (MP) and health points (HP) for the grueling 4th floor. The 4th Floor Gauntlet: This floor is a massive, winding corridor that lacks traditional teleporter loops but features high-level encounters. Essential Tips for Success Inventory Check: Your inventory space is incredibly tight in Phantasy Star I. Make sure you have at least one free slot for the Eclipse Torch before making the climb. Enemy Management: The metallic and crystalline horrors of Dezoris hit hard. If your party's health dips below 40%, prioritize healing immediately. The Trade: Once you reach the final room in the northeast corner of the 4th floor, interact with the statue/NPC. If the Amber Eye is in your inventory, it will automatically trigger the trade sequence.
