Orgulho Nosso de Cada Dia | Leandro Karnal
“Pride is the source of all weaknesses, because it is the source of all vices.” This thought of Saint Augustine seems to no longer be taken into consideration. After all, vanity seems to be increasingly on the rise in this society, where individualism and “entrepreneurship” have become goals and values that are strongly encouraged. What was once seen as the greatest and first of the deadly sins due to its evil attributes - pride - has now become a virtue. Disguised and renamed as self-esteem, vanity is now “self-love”. This program opens the Café Filosófico series that presents the “7 deadly pleasures – sins and virtues today”, curated and presented by historian Leandro Karnal.
