The Kokanee populations and sizes in the lake are cyclical and while large numbers of 8-15" Kokanee are present in the lake this year several fish up to 7 lbs have been caught this spring. However, big changes are in the horizon as dam restoration will once again restore fish passage in this lake setting the stage for the return of anadromous Sockeye Salmon run which may spell the beginning of the end of this trophy Kokanee fishery.
