Aourir Souk happens every Wednesday and it is the market for those living outside of Agadir in the Taghazout, Tamraght, Tamaowanza area. We explore the cost of living in Morocco to fill our bohemian kitchen with fruits and vegetables both grown in Morocco and from abroad. There is a mix of languages spoken, Darija, Tachelhit, French, Arabic, and English. In the Moroccan market we buy melons, oranges, potatoes, peas, carrots, parsnips, mango, pineapple, raspberry, strawberry, apples, blueberry, celery, parsley, radishes, pasta, sugar cane juice, eggplant, zuchinni, green pepper, beats, and nectarines. 200 Dirham converts to 20 euro or about 22 dollars. We eat healthy, and mostly local and seasonal for an affordable price. I feel somethings could be cheaper in America, such as pineapple, mango, and even broccoli, but on the whole the taste in Morocco is very fresh. It lends well to Moroccan cuisine. So travel to Morocco already and taste the difference.
