We met at Lancaster University in October 2012 as freshers. We met in the kitchen of my uni halls! Tell me a bit about the two of you, what do you guys do? How do you spend your time? We are real foodies and enjoy cooking together and going to restaurants! We now have a Cockapoo puppy (Willow) and we love taking her for nice walks in the countryside and by the river, followed by a drink or two at the pub! We also love our holidays and weekends away - the New Forest is one of our favourite UK breaks and we've enjoyed 'glamping' in shepherd’s huts. Charlie loves BBQing and making fires (ha!) so it's a perfect holiday for us. We also love our Greek island holidays and planning adventures. How did the proposal go down? (All the gushy details, I love this bit!) We got engaged on the island of Kefalonia in Greece (September 2020 - a last minute trip during Covid!). Charlie hired a little boat for the two of us and he proposed in a beautiful bay. I was scoffing crisps (embarrassing!) at the time, and he then sat down next to me (the boat was rather rocky!) and proposed. It was really magical as we had the whole bay to ourselves. We then popped open the champagne and jumped into the sea! How did you choose your wedding venue(s)? We chose the Cotswolds as a location as my family live in Birmingham, so it was in between where we live (Maidenhead) and Birmingham. It is also an area that we are really fond of. We wanted a barn style venue - Caswell was the 3rd venue that we visited, and we instantly felt it was perfect. What sort of experience do you want your guests to have? We want our guests to relax and have fun. Although there will be traditional elements to our wedding (e.g., the church ceremony) we would like an informal atmosphere and to just party and celebrate with us! Can you describe some of the details and stylings, does your wedding have a theme? We are going for a burnt orange colour scheme. The bridesmaid's dresses are a terracotta/cinnamon colours. We are also having greenery within the flowers and overall theme. Dress code will be typical wedding gear (hats optional) What was the hardest decision during the planning? Food - as we are such foodies, trying to narrow down options is really tough! What advice would you give to couples planning a wedding? Try and enjoy every moment of the planning!
