Fender Performer Stratocaster vs. American Special Hey guys, This week on our 'Focus On Sound' YouTube series, we bring you a Stratocaster from Fender's new American-made Performer Series electric guitars. This instrument is intended to replace the formerly popular American Special Strat, and we think it is a very fine instrument, indeed. So, naturally, for those of you wondering whether or not it's worth the upgrade, we decided to compare the two of them in this video, so that you can hear both guitars, and decide for yourself which one you prefer. They are both brilliant, and we love what Fender have done with the new Performer lineup of guitars. Amps are the wonderful Supro Saturn Reverb and Supro Tremoverb, mic'd up with V7-series dynamic mics from sE Electronics, with room signal provided by a matched pair of sE 5 pencil mics.
