Short teaser for the work in progress documentary, IS THIS THE CITY WE WANT TO BUILD. The documentary, directed by David Fine, features interviews with numerous planning and housing experts as well as tenants impacted by the threat of eviction and forced resettlement. Many cities are wrestling with the same issues, but Vancouver is the poster child for housing dysfunction, being one of the least affordable cities on the planet. How it deals with these issues and the outcome will be watched by other cities. Is Vancouver attempting to create the city we want to build? Robert Moses is referred to in the film. Moses was a developer in New York who was attempting to demolish huge areas of New York City to build freeways.
