Interview with Terrance Dean for The Bronx Hip Hop Oral History Project on June 10, 2025. This interview is the 5th interview as part of a sub-series of interviews under The Bronx Hip Hop Oral History Project called "The 1520 Project" intended to collect the testimonials of the residents of 1520 Sedgwick Ave, known internationally and in the Hip Hop world as "The Birthplace of Hip Hop". We follow the format of our collaboration with Fordham University under the Bronx African American History Project which has focused on housing developments such as Patterson Houses and the Allerton Coops. Coincidentally, Mr. Dean's parents lived and met at the Patterson Houses. To date, we have collected and distributed oral history interviews with residents of 1520 Sedgwick Ave, such as DJ Jerry Dee, Fred Collins Part 1 & 2, and Mark "Po" Dean. The interviewers are Akilah Shedrick and Pastor Crespo, Jr., the Research Librarian and Archivist for The Bronx County Historical Society Research Center. The Bronx Hip Hop Oral History Project is a project of The Bronx County Archives at The Bronx County Historical Society Research Library.
