Fairy Coach - Ernest Tomlinson - Crawford Light Orchestra - JW 125

“Fairy Coach”, a composition by Ernest Tomlinson, (using the pseudonym Alan Perry), is from the Josef Weinberger Recorded Music Library, released in 1957. To quote the JW website “Sleigh bells and horse clops with woodwind trills and a gentle accompaniment create a magical and festive atmosphere”. Ernest Tomlinson MBE (19 September 1924 – 12 June 2015) was one of British light music's most talented and respected composers and conductors. He was also the saviour of many light music manuscripts. In 1984, after discovering that the BBC were disposing of their light music archive, Tomlinson founded The Library of Light Orchestral Music, which is housed in a barn at his family's farmhouse near Longridge in Lancashire. The library currently contains around 50,000 pieces, including many items that would otherwise have been lost. Tomlinson was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE), in the 2012 Birthday Honours, for services to music. So enjoy “Fairy Coach', played by the Crawford Light Orchestra (JW 125).
