X-Fish Izakaya Omakase Experience Today we visited X-Fish Izakaya in Buena Park, California, a popular Japanese restaurant known for its All-You-Can-Eat sushi and omakase-style selections. We arrived at the restaurant around 4:00 PM on a Sunday afternoon. Before arriving, we added our name to the Yelp waitlist, and it took about 20 minutes before our table was ready. Even though the restaurant was busy, the seating process was smooth and the staff was very friendly. Once seated, we ordered the X-Fish Omakase selection, where each round includes about 10 pieces of sushi per person. The menu offers a wide variety of fresh fish including tuna, salmon, yellowtail, shrimp, eel, octopus, scallops, and more. Some premium items such as bluefin tuna, jumbo scallop, and salmon roe are also available with limited orders. The sushi presentation was beautiful, and the fish looked incredibly fresh. The slices of fish were generous, and the balance between rice and fish was very good. Some pieces were lightly torched or topped with special sauces that added extra flavor. Besides sushi, we also tried a few hot dishes. The udon noodle soup with tempura shrimp was warm and comforting, with a clear broth and chewy noodles. Another dish we enjoyed was the spicy seafood noodle soup, which had a rich, flavorful broth and plenty of seafood. The restaurant atmosphere was modern and lively. The dining room was bright and spacious, and you could see the sushi chefs preparing food behind the counter. It felt like a great place to come with friends or family to enjoy a relaxed meal together. To complement the meal, we also tried a bottle of Japanese sake, which paired perfectly with the fresh sushi and seafood dishes. Overall, the experience at X-Fish Izakaya was very enjoyable. The food was fresh, the menu had a lot of variety, and the service was efficient even during a busy Sunday afternoon.
