Amritha Murali: A Brief Encounter

FEA met up with the young and very talented Karnatic vocalist and violinist Amritha Murali to shoot a promo with her for CROSSROADS, her upcoming concert in Mumbai on 29th October, 5pm at St. Andrew's Auditorium, Bandra West. She talked to us about her initiation into the Karnatic music tradition, her first concerts, her gurus and idols and the joy she derives from spreading her music to young children. She went on to share her views on the responsibilities of both artistes and rasikas to further the music. Keeping an open mind to appreciate other forms of music, in her opinion was the key.
