Former Baja California governor Ernesto Ruffo will remain in custody at the Almoloya prison after a judge upheld the precautionary measures against him. The former PAN member is accused of fuel theft (huachicol) and causing 5 billion pesos in damages. His lawyer, Fernando Gómez-Mont, asserts that the evidence was not considered in the decision to prevent Ruffo from being remanded in custody and called the ruling an abuse of power and senseless.
