First, I visited the two castles, Neu Erfenstein and Alt Erfenstein, before continuing along beautiful paths to the secluded village of #Esthal. From there, it's not far to the idyllic Goldbrunnen (Golden Fountain). Passing the remains of the towpath system, I reached the cozy Wolfsschluchthütte (Wolf's Gorge Hut) of the Palatinate Forest Association (PWV). I hiked through a long valley, past Breitenstein Castle, and climbed up to the #Stutgarten – the remains of a medieval horse paddock. Passing the historic castle well, I reached #Spangenberg Castle.
