Virus mortel pour les chevaux : «Les vétérinaires n’ont jamais vu ça»
When horses start banging their heads against the walls of their stalls, it means the virus is beginning to take its toll. Since the end of February, an outbreak of equine herpesvirus (EHV-1) has been wreaking havoc in the equestrian world. The first alert came in late February in Valencia, Spain, where a horse show brought together nearly 800 horses, about a hundred of which were showing symptoms of the disease. Since then, several other outbreaks have been confirmed in France, prompting the industry to take preventative health measures to avoid the spread of the virus.
