Boomers 70+: Is Cruising Even Worth It Anymore? My Honest Take at 77
I’m 77 years old, and after more than 40 cruises, the question keeps coming up: Is cruising still worth it for boomers 70+? I filmed this video on a 10-day Caribbean cruise, right from the beautiful deck and balcony, because I wanted to share an honest look at how cruising has changed — not just for me, but for many of us who have been cruising for decades. Cruising is still a wonderful experience once you’re onboard: the ocean views, the dining rooms, the entertainment, and the relaxing sea days we all love. But everything around the cruise — the planning, the travel days, the technology, the rising fees, the shrinking service, and the health concerns — has become harder as we’ve gotten older. In this video I talk about: ✔ The new challenges for boomers and seniors 70+ ✔ Why travel days feel harder at 70+ ✔ Tech-heavy check-in and cruise apps ✔ Price increases, packages, and “fee-ification” ✔ Fewer services, fewer stewards, more work on us ✔ Why excursions don’t feel the same ✔ Safety concerns at certain ports ✔ Our own medical scare in Aruba ✔ Why future cruises may look different for us ✔ And why cruising is STILL magical — but changing If you’re a boomer or senior who cruises (or used to), I’d love to hear your experiences. Is cruising still worth it for you? Has it become harder? Are you slowing down, or still booking the next one?
