Hālau Nā Mamo O Puʻuanahulu Nā Kumu William Kahakuleilehua Haunuʻu "Sonny" Ching & Lōpaka lgarta-De Vera Kapahulu, Oʻahu "Mamo Medley - Kipu Kai / Pōlaʻilaʻi / Home Kapaka / Alekoki” On March 24, 1986, at Pākī Park, with twelve kūpuna, the seed of what would become Hālau Nā Mamo O Puʻuanahulu was planted. For this year's Merrie Monarch Festival, we honor the kūpuna of our hālau, both past and present as they are the foundation on which the hālau was built. These songs that they leamed were taught to dancers spanning four decades.
