The Kahramanmaraş Solar Power Plant (GES), one of the most important investments in renewable energy implemented by the Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality, was inaugurated with a ceremony. Located in the Karabıyıklı neighborhood of Pazarcık district, the facility, built with an investment of approximately 200 million TL, will meet approximately 60% of the Metropolitan Municipality's annual energy needs. The project will contribute to environmentally friendly energy production and significantly reduce the municipality's energy costs. The opening ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Kuwait to Ankara, Mohammad Alshabo; AK Party Kahramanmaraş Members of Parliament Prof. Dr. Vahit Kirişci, Ömer Oruç Bilal Debgici, Dr. Tuba Köksal, and Dr. İrfan Karatutlu; Metropolitan Mayor Fırat Görgel; AK Party Provincial Chairman Muhammed Burak Gül; a delegation from the Kuwait Arab Economic Development Fund; district mayors; representatives of public institutions; and numerous citizens. During the speeches at the program, emphasis was placed on the strong friendship and development cooperation between Turkey and Kuwait, and it was stated that the project would make a significant contribution to sustainable development goals. Prof. Dr. Vahit Kirişci stated that Türkiye has become one of the exemplary countries in Europe in the field of renewable energy, and that the goal is to meet all of the municipality's energy needs from renewable sources in the future. Following the speeches, the protocol members cut the ribbon to officially open the Solar Power Plant. After the opening, the delegation toured the facility and received information about the plant's technical infrastructure, production capacity, and operating system.
