2025 Lexus UX 300h (AWD) // Full Detailed Review

The Lexus UX gets a new powertrain for 2025. The old hybrid system is out, replaced by Lexus Hybrid System 5 (LHS 5), and with it comes a new name--UX 300h. While the UX 250h was my favorite of the Lexus crossovers, the 300h is better in just about every way. It's smoother, it's quicker, it's quieter. The new powertrain produces 196 hp combined at its peak, with the internal combustion engine pushing the front wheels along with an electric motor. In all-wheel-drive form, the UX gains another motor to push the back wheels as needed. That rear motor pumps out 40 hp and 62 lb-ft, which is a big jump from last year's that only produced about 7 lb-ft of torque. So the rear wheels can get involved in a much more meaningful way than before. Your transmission is going to be an electronic continuously variable transmission (eCVT). And for fuel efficiency, you're looking at 43 mpg combined in the FWD version and 42 mpg combined in this AWD UX. That's up from the 38 combined in the 250h AWD. Beyond the powertrain, you also get the latest Lexus 3.0 Safety and Driver assist suite, which is a very welcome upgrade. There are also a few styling and feature tweaks.
