2026 Fireworks Safety Tips. Fireworks are fun, but they can be dangerous. Enjoy this 250th anniversary of our nation by attending the professional fireworks in your area. Here are the CPSC fireworks safety tips from their official guidance: Never allow young children to play with or light fireworks, including sparklers. Sparklers can reach about 2,000°F. Keep a bucket of water or garden hose nearby in case of fire or mishap. Make sure fireworks are legal in your area. Only buy and use fireworks labeled for consumer use, not professional use. Never use fireworks while impaired by alcohol or drugs. Light fireworks one at a time, then move back quickly. Never try to re-light or pick up fireworks that did not fully ignite. Follow all instructions and warnings.
