Sibelius Academy’s Global Music Department embraces pluralistic, fluid approaches to sound, music, culture and identity, creating new hybrid spaces for musicians to engage in intercultural dialogue and collaboration. In the year 2020 – 2021, during a time when physical live performances were not possible due to the COVID-19 pandemic, students were invited to record and film their own artistic work that has emerged as part of their global music degree studies. This series of 5 videos celebrates collaborations between musicians from Czech Republic, Greece, Finland, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Palestine, Portugal, Sápmi and the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, featuring new music and traditional arrangements celebrating the diversity of our planet. Filmed and edited by Ville Tanttu Recorded and mixed by Mikko Haapoja Series curated by Nathan Riki Thomson and the Global Music Department The master rights of the live performance audio is owned by the Sibelius Academy. The publishing rights of the song are held at Bafes Factory.
