Creating an entrepreneurial business in an enabling environment is a far less daunting task than building a sustainable business into the future. To do so in a volatile environment characterised by increasing cost and regulations (amid sporadic threats of nationalisation and labour unrest) brings particular challenges. This talk reflects on the experience of building an investment and operational company in South Africa.
