If you aren't familiar, a swim jig has a good deal in common with other types of jigs (flipping, casting, football), in that they have a weighted head, sturdy hook and banded skirt (often made of silicon). Swim jigs usually have a streamlined head, often have a lighter weed guard (since they aren't designed for heavy cover in the way flipping jig are). How do you fish a swim jig? They are usually fished up in the water column to mimic batifish, instead of on the bottom (like a bluegill feeding or a crawfish) which is what many other jigs imitate.
