Trafficking In Persons: Law Enforcement Challenges During An International Crisis
As the world focuses on the challenges of an enduring pandemic, another global epidemic runs concurrently beneath the surface, silently victimizing the most vulnerable and disadvantaged in our society. Migrant smuggling, forced labour and sexual exploitation are some of the symptoms of human trafficking, the 2nd largest criminal enterprise on the planet, hiding in plain sight in our communities and across all jurisdictions. Julie Clegg’s Blue Line Expo International presentation will discuss the challenges faced by the international law enforcement community as we fight human trafficking in the current climate, as well as highlighting strategies and recommendations for tackling this evolving and often-misunderstood organized crime movement.
