Everyone seems to be talking about AI music right now, but I think we're asking the wrong question. Instead of asking whether AI music is good or bad, maybe we should ask how we got here in the first place. In this video, I explore how decades of chasing perfection in music production - from endless overdubs and editing to pitch correction, quantization, sampling, etc. - may have paved the way for AI-generated music.
