The main building stands as the sole collaborative work by three masters of Japanese modernism—Kunio Maekawa, Junzo Sakakura, and Junzo Yoshimura—and was registered as a tangible cultural property by Japan’s Agency for Cultural Affairs in 2006. Widely recognized as an architectural landmark in Tokyo, I-House is harmoniously integrated with a traditional Japanese garden, designed by famed Kyoto landscape artist Ogawa Jihei VII.
