Spyderco Salt 1 RIT Dye Process | Yellow FRN
Brief discussion and overview of the dyeing process for my pinned Spyderco Salt 1 folding knives with yellow FRN scales and H1 steel. Materials used: 2 tin cans (small size to minimize amount of dye necessary) RIT dye (synthetic or all-purpose, depending on color) liquid dish soap (name brand rhymes with fawn) white vinegar Note: recipe on RIT dye instructions calls for gallons of water; I only needed to dye a few inches of handle, so I greatly reduced the volumes of each ingredient used to better suit this application.
