3.5 mile Mountain Bike and Hiking Trail - Seminole State Park - Florida

Collier Seminole State Park - Naples, FL. 3.5 mile Mountain Bike and Hiking Trail. This is a good trail that does not take up too much time when you are out. 3.5 miles takes about 2 hours or so to hike. This video will show you what to expect. The best time is January through April. November and December are usually good times too, but as you will see towards the end of the video, November can be a little wet. The summer rains end at the beginning of October, but if there was much rain, the water will hang around for a while. Once the cold fronts start, at the beginning of October, the bugs will go away (not completely) until the end of April and beginning of May. Then the mosquitos will literally carry you off, if you don't have on repellant. It gets more and more as the summer rains continue. Then there will be so many that they will overpower and even if they are not biting will be a nuisance. The deerflies won't bite as much with repellant on, but they still want to do some investigating and will get in any place you don't have on repellant. The bulk of the video takes place May 26, 2014 (Which was probably Memorial Day). The bird activity was good, there were lots of birds calling. At the end, I included some of our trip in November that included walking through water on the trail off of the old road. The old road is up and does not get flooded, but all the land around it will have standing water. This is what breeds the mosquitos. There is a point where you may spot an alligator where the road crosses over a small canal and there is a small bridge. There is a sign, so watch where you are walking. We saw an alligator in the water on November 28th. I don't know why I did not get video of it. Maybe next time. There are lots of bird sounds throughout the video.
