I Tried The Viral Carbon Fiber “Smart” Guitar

To this day, the most popular acoustic and electric guitars tend to be faithful reproductions of the original designs. Unfortunately, this has meant that many attempts to bring our beloved instrument into the 21st century have failed. In this video, I'll give you my first impressions of the Lava Me 3 acoustic-electric guitar by Lava Music. It’s a mid to high-end guitar made of carbon fiber, making it incredibly resilient to changes in climate. It features what many consider to be “smart” technology with its 3.5” Multi-Touch display, giving you access to a whole host of different apps -- like a built-in tuner, onboard loop station, metronome, 32GB of storage to record and save your ideas, WiFi & Bluetooth connectivity, and even some helpful practice tools. Towards the end of the video (12:45), I’ll do a side-by-side shootout with my wife’s Taylor GS Mini and my Collings D1.
