Held on Easter Sunday, it is a vibrant, historic procession celebrating the city’s rich cultural diversity and Chinese heritage, dating back to 1871 The centerpiece of the parade is the world’s longest Imperial Dragon, Dai Gum Loong. At over 125 meters long, he weaves through the historic streets of Bendigo (View St, Pall Mall, McCrae St, and Bridge St) to the Golden Dragon Museum. It serves as the culmination of the "Awakening of the Dragon" ceremony held on Saturday, where Dai Gum Loong is "woken" with 100,000 firecrackers. The parade features over 100 entries, including colourful Chinese lions, community floats, bands, school groups, and dance troupes.
