How to Find Volume of a Cylinder | 8.G.C.9 💗

In this video lesson we will learn how to find the volume of a cylinder. We will learn how the volume of a cylinder is similar to the volume of a prism. We will begin with the formula V=Bh and understand why we can rewrite this to be V=pi times r squared times h. We will discover that a cylinder is a three dimensional figure with two parallel circular bases. We will understand how to label and identify the radius and height of a cylinder. We will find the volume of cylinders in terms of pi and using 3.14 for pi. We will also learn how to solve for the height when given the volume and radius. We will learn how to find the radius when given the volume and the height. Student practice problems are embedded in the lesson with modeled exemplar solutions.
