In this video I will install and configure Active Directory (AD-DS) on Windows Server 2019 to be the first domain controller for the enterprise infrastructure. Active Directory (AD) is a Microsoft tool used for network user management called a directory service. A directory is nothing more than a database containing information of users of an organization, such as name, login, password, job title, profile, and so on. AD is implemented in Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), which, translated literally, means: Lightweight Directory Access Protocol. It is a free protocol that is known as the industry standard for distributed directory information management over an Internet Protocol (IP) network. By implementing LDAP service, Active Directory allows the use of a single directory to control access to all systems and services within a corporate network. This means that a company employee does not have to create a username and password for each system they have access to, but rather use their unique username and passwords.
