I started off by using the $40 dollar back packing air mattresses. I've been through 3 of them and my main issue is that, over time, they stop holding air. Also, It was kind of a pain to wake up next to the wife with a big gap between our two air pads. I actually splurged on two Big Agnes air sleeping pads for $189 each, but after having the same issues as my previous pads, I returned them for two $40 thermarest base camp pads. Same issues, I just dealt with them... Well... until that one day my friend Channing introduced me to the Luno Life.
