We’ve got Mat lined up in an E39 M5, and he’s about to go head-to-head against an R34 GT-R Skyline! But how do they compare? Starting with the M5, it’s powered by a 4.9-litre naturally-aspirated V8 that can deliver 400hp and 500Nm. It weighs in at 1,795kg and it drives the rear wheels only. If you’re looking to pick one up today, it’ll set you back around £25,000. As for the GT-R, well that’ll cost you MUCH more, with one of those costing around £120,000! However, it may be more expensive, but it’s down on power, with its 2.6-litre twin-turbo straight-six able to deliver 280hp and 392Nm. It is lighter than the BMW, though, tipping the scales at 1,560kg. So what do you think - will it be an easy victory for the BMW? Or could the GT-R snatch it?
