My piano teacher would only allow me to practice his pieces after practicing Czerny 30/40, Sonatinas, and Sonatas - so I always looked forward to his music at the end of each lesson. 💜 Life eventually carried me far from home - studying abroad, attending college, and moving across continents, but one thing I never left behind was my Richard Clayderman sheet music book. Over 30 years later, I still treasure it, returning to it time and time again. 🎼 This year, I decided to wholeheartedly reconnect with his music in celebration of my attendance at his spectacular live concert in May 2026. When I play these pieces, I’m transported back to my childhood - the sound of the old upright piano in my parents’ home, the rhythm of daily practice, and the simple joy of practicing his music. 🎹 I even remember recording a few of his songs onto a cassette tape as a gift for my teachers at school. How I wish I had kept a copy for myself! 🎶 In this video, I share my interpretation of “Mariage D’amour.” I hope my performance brings you a sense of peace, nostalgia, and gentle reflection. 🌿 🎼 There are many variations and arrangements of this piece. My interpretation is based on a Japanese edition of the sheet music I’ve had since the 1980s, originally licensed by a French publisher.
