Taiwan High Speed ​​Rail (THSR), which operates the Taiwan High Speed ​​Rail, also known as the "Taiwan Shinkansen," indicated in June that it may be bringing forward the introduction of its new Japanese-made N700ST train, originally scheduled for the second half of next year, to "mid-next year." Twelve N700ST trains, based on the N700S series, are planned for introduction, with the first train expected to arrive in Taiwan in mid-August. THSR states that this will increase transport capacity by approximately 25% in the future and improve congestion inside the trains.
