This time, we're staying overnight in our car at Dake Onsen in Fukushima Prefecture. Dake Onsen is a highland hot spring resort located at the foot of Mount Adatara in Nihonmatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture. It boasts a rare "highly acidic, free-flowing hot spring" – a rarity in Japan. It's the perfect hot spring resort for those who appreciate high-quality hot springs and those who want to relax. The hot spring town is charming with its compact streets lined with inns and cafes, perfect for exploring on foot. The katsudon (pork cutlet rice bowl) at "Narukoma" in the town center featured a huge pork cutlet that overflowed the bowl, soaked in a sweet, special sauce that paired perfectly with the Fukushima-grown rice. I couldn't stop eating! Sake is highly recommended in Dake Onsen. Every shop you visit will introduce you to their carefully selected sake.
